ABOUT ME
Lorraine Tilstra

Lorraine has over 35 years of diverse experience in health care with a focus on oncology nursing, end-of-life care, and care for the elderly. She has been married for 40 years, is a parent and grandparent, and brings a combination of life experience and formal training to the therapeutic relationship.
Lorraine holds a Master’s Degree of Social Work and is passionate about her work as a counsellor. She provides services to clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, intergenerational trauma, PTSD, injury or MVA rehabilitation, addictions, relationship issues, and challenging life transitions such as grief, loss and more.
Lorraine uses evidence-based practice and a treatment modality that is informed by and integrates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance-commitment therapy, trauma therapy, and mindfulness practice to name a few.
Lorraine is kind, down-to-earth, and genuine. She wants each client to feel seen and heard. Her approach is collaborative, focusing on client strengths and empowerment, working together to develop a path that aligns with the client’s counseling goals. She welcomes you to join her in the art of listening, acting on what is heard, and experiencing change!
